2009 and 2010 donations and grants:

  • Donated $420,936 to United Way in 2009, with $210,468 of that matching dollars from the company.

Economic Development

  • Entergy’s economic development efforts in 2010 contributed about $1.3 million (including human resource support) toward business recruiting and community development in southeast Texas. Since 2006, those projects have helped bring nearly 12,000 jobs to the Southeast Texas area.

History

  • The company traces its roots to Gulf States Utilities, which merged with New Orleans-based Entergy Corp. in 1994. Following the merger, the company’s operations in Texas became known as Entergy Texas.
