My Account Anywhere

How do I use My Account Anywhere with my Web-enabled smart phone?

Now you can have the convenience of My Account Online right in the palm of your hand! Access the most popular features of My Account Online from your Internet-capable smart phone while you’re away from home or on the move. It’s simple to get started:

1. Open the browser on your smart phone.
2. At the prompt, enter the URL entergy.com
3. Log in to My Account Online with your user ID and password just like you would from your computer.
4. Simply scroll up and down to view your account(s) and click to choose available features.

That’s it! Pay your bill, check your balance or confirm a work order.

Next, sign up for cell phone text messaging so you can receive power outage alerts and report outages via your cell phone.1

For BlackBerry users:

Customers using a BlackBerry smart phone may need to create a special bookmark to access My Account Online through their device:

1. In the browser, go to entergy.com.
2. Press the menu key (several small dots) and "Add Bookmark."
3. Change the bookmark name if desired.
4. Scroll down and change "Browser" from "BlackBerry Browser" to "Internet Browser."

5. Select "Add."

6. From the main screen, press the menu key.

7. Scroll down to "Bookmarks."

8. Select the bookmark just created.

9. Select "My Account Online" and log on.

How do I use My Account Anywhere with my text-enabled cell phone?

You can access some of the most commonly used capabilities of My Account Online from your text-enabled cell phone while you’re away from home or on the move. Wherever you are, My Account Anywhere text messaging lets you:

  • get an alert if the power on your street goes out.
  • receive an update when the power is restored.
  • report to Entergy Texas, Inc. that "lights are out" at your home or business.
  • see the balance, due date, account number and other up-to-the-minute information about your account.
  • receive alerts about payments and balances on your account so you don’t accidentally miss a due date or get disconnected.
  • receive a quick, last-minute payment extension, if you are eligible.
  • check on the status of a work order or permit associated with your account.

    My Account Anywhere Instructions for Your Cell Phone and Text Messaging

    Register your cell phone to your electric account number.

    Register using your cell phone:
     

  • Get your account number and ZIP code from your bill or from My Account Online. (Do not include "QPC" or any numbers following it.)
  • Start a new text message in your cell phone or PDA.
  • Enter the text-to number 368374, then press "OK" or enter.
  • Next, enter "reg" (without quotes), then a space, then enter your Entergy Texas utility account number, then a space, then the associated ZIP code. For example, "reg 9876543 70113."
  • Press "send" (without quotes). You’ll receive a confirmation and/or other instructions. Your cell phone number is now registered to your Entergy Texas account. To register multiple cell phones (e.g., a spouse’s or a roommate’s) to the same account, you may repeat the steps using a different cell phone.

    Register in My Account Online:

  • Register or log in to My Account Online. To register for My Account Online, you need your account number and service location ZIP code.
  • On the Account Detail page, click on the Cell Phone Texting link.
  • Follow the directions to enter the cell phone numbers you want to associate with your account. You can also remove cell phones using this same easy process.

    It may take a few minutes for systems to update your new cell phone registration to your Entergy Texas account.

    What if I have more than one Entergy Texas utility account?

    You can register your cell phone number to multiple electric accounts. Just repeat the process above with the same cell phone but using different account and ZIP code information.

    What happens next?

    Power Outages
    If an outage is detected at your location, we will send you a text message to let you know. To keep you informed, we’ll send you updates when the status of the outage changes. And, we’ll send you a text message when the power has been restored on your street.2

    If you experience a power emergency (e.g., lines down), always call 1-800-9OUTAGE (1-800-968-8243) to report it.

    To report an outage at your location by texting from your registered cell phone:

  • Start a new text message in your cell phone or PDA.
  • Enter the text-to number 368374, then press "OK" or enter.
  • Type "out" (without quotes).
  • Press "send" (without quotes).

    That’s it! The outage at your location has been reported to Entergy Texas. You’ll receive a confirmation text message and other instructions if needed.

    Account Management
    Use our text commands (see list) anytime after registering your cell phone to check the status of your account. Text commands include:

  • Check the balance, due date, account number and other information for your account: Text "bal" (without quotes) to 368374.
  • get an extension of a few days to pay your bill if you are eligible. Text "ext" (without quotes) to 368374.
  • Check the status of a work order or permit for your account. Text "order" (without quotes) to 368374.
  • Any registered cell phone has access to the account information and privileges.
