Help for Paying Your Electric Bills

When your income won’t stretch any further, there’s help. Programs are available for both emergency bill payment assistance and long-term relief.

The Power to Care

Project CARE has now become The Power to Care. Although we have a new name, our purpose remains the same – helping neighbors in need. Your donation to The Power to Care will help low-income, elderly or disabled customers pay their energy bills in times of financial distress.

Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by the shareholders of Entergy Corporation up to $500,000.

Just click here to donate. It’s a small thing you can do to make a big difference in someone’s life. To find a local community action agency where you can apply for help, click here.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program assists low-income households, particularly those with the lowest incomes and disproportionately highest energy costs to meet their home energy costs by making payments directly to energy suppliers.

Both homeowner and renter households are eligible to receive LIHEAP assistance. The household's annual income must be at or below 150% of federal poverty level. Energy costs must also be documented.

Click here for a list of LIHEAP agencies.
